Reading Mystery and Adventure

There is nothing I like better than a good mystery novel. I first fell on love with tales like that when I came across the stories of Sherlock Holmes. That was when I was in high school and I have already heard and seen the famous detective in action through cartoons and TV shows but it was a totally different experience to read about him in the stories that were conceived by Arthur Conan Doyle. The way that he solves all of those cases was just stunning. I actually dreamt of becoming a detective because of Mister Holmes. I bought all the stories about him even the ones that were not written by Conan Doyle. As long as it was about Sherlock Holmes it was ok with me. When I have read all of his stories I felt kind of sad. I thought that was the end of my enjoyment of the mystery novel.Fortunately that was when I discovered other more recent authors. I began to read the books by Thomas Harris, Caleb Carr, and Dan Brown. I didn't have to limit myself with writers from the past. There are very good novels coming out these days. that was the same time when I began to explore other genres. I discovered and liked the adventure novel. Those were stories of ordinary men and women who faced extraordinary situations. For me the stories written by Jack London are the best adventure tales of all time. Now I know better than to limit myself into one author or genre. There's a lot of options out there. Right now I am reading a book entitled Secret of the Sands. It is a bestseller in Amazon.com, and its story is a very good combination of everything that will keep you riveted. Try checking it out.
